Thanks for your interest in viewing our New Membership Information page. The following are details of what is entailed in becoming a member of the Rotary Club of Oak Bay:

We meet every Tuesday at Noon. Luncheon cost is $16 per person. See location above.

Membership dues: $200; initiation fee $50.

New Members must complete a membership form which details professional background, community involvement, etc. This is then submitted to the Board members who vote on whether or not to approve membership. Details are then sent to members who also vote. If approved, your induction as a member occurs a few weeks later.

Membership involves:

  1. Attendance at weekly meetings. Meeting make-ups can be done at other club meetings, on-line, or by participating in Club projects. Members are encouraged to attend at least 50% of the meetings.
  2. Participating in Club fund-raising projects such as our annual garage sale, the Oak Bay Tea Party popcorn and candy floss sales, our golf tournament and various, fun, social events.

Club fundraising projects:

The monies raised at these projects enable the Club to initiate community and international projects such as the Oak Bay Kids Water Park, the Oak Bay Teen Centre, and several International projects. Click here for more information.

Rotary Foundation fundraising: Individual donations are tax receiptable. Monies are sent to Rotary International in Illinois where they are used for international projects. Click here for more information. A Rotarian who donates US $1,000 becomes a Paul Harris Fellow. For more information on Paul Harris Fellowship click here.
