Alan Roy Tanzania
Hans Ockermueller introduced our guest speaker, Victoria architect Alan Roy, who had a remarkable tale of adventure in Tanzania, accompanied by a slide show (above).

Alan told us that he went to Tanzania this year with the idea of exploring the possibility of some day building schools for a village in Tanzania. As soon as he started talking to the villagers he met about his idea, they jumped on it and said, in effect, "Let's do it! Now!" With his design help and knowledge of construction, they built a school, paused briefly, and built a second one. The slides showed a solid workmanship, using local tools and materials. Alan told us that he is already planning to go back next year and build two more schools.

Alan RoyPhil Neroutsos thanked Alan (above) for an interesting and inspiring talk. Tom rang out (figuratively) the meeting by leading us in God Save the Queen.
